Born in the North East of England, designer Samuel Monaghan quickly adopted a DIY mentality through process and the subculture of hardcore punk. He values the sense of community, with belief that an open door policy will best challenge, shape and develop the success of an idea and it’s results.

The title Second Best was chosen over a namesake for the simple reason that a self titled project came with uncomfortable feeling of hierarchy. This project focuses on it’s own timeline with each chapter being an iteration of the last rather than a fresh start. Therefore an inclusive brand name seemed right.
